After I open Thunderbird, I eventually get a nag screen saying: "Thunderbird can't update to the latest version. Download a fresh copy of Thunderbird and we'll help you to install it"

I'm already on the latest version of Thunderbird! Version 102.2.1 . This question has been asked before but all those replies dealt with adding an exception to Avast. I do not use Avast. I use AVG Free and Zone Alarm Pro. I do not use any programs that check to see if a program needs to be updated.

The nag screen started about a week ago. That was right after I updated to Version 102.2.1 . AVG Free and Zone Alarm Pro have NOT been updated. Was something new added to Thunderbird that requires I add an exception to AVG Free or Zone Alarm Pro? Or is there a bug in Thunderbird's V102.2.1?

Checking Thunderbird's "About Thunderbird", it said I had the most recent version. I eventually decided to check the Thunderbird website and I saw there was a newer version. I read I could download and install it manually to update my Thunderbird so that's what I did.

I'm now at Version 102.3.1 , but I'm still getting the nag screen that says "Thunderbird can't update to the latest version. Download a fresh copy of Thunderbird and we'll help you to install it". The nag has a clickable box. I was daring and decided to click on it. It took me to https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/ . I'm still wondering why I'm getting the nag several times a day.

Hi,

I've been having the same issue as everyone else - "Thunderbird can't update to the latest version.", there are dozens of posts asking for help finding a solution to this problem and everything that has been suggested has not helped me.

When I check "About Mozilla Thunderbird", it says I have version 102.3.1, but if I go to "Settings", "General", down to "Updates" and click on "Show Update History", it says the following (see attachments):-

"The following updates have been installed

Thunderbird 91.13.0 (20220817215453) Installed on: 24 August 2022 at 11:09:51am Stutus: The Update was successfully installed"

It then continues to list the older version updates that have installed by "date installed", it's not showing that I have actually installed the current update - 102.3.1, so this seems to be where the issue is occurring from.

I also use AVG Free, version 22.9.3254 (build 22.9.7554.750).

Is there a solution to get "Show Update History" to show that I have actually installed the lastest version - 102.3.1, which I have done many times trying to stop the message "Thunderbird can't update to the latest version." from continually popping up?
