You need to push control alt delete, select task manager, highlight the Firefox process, and click "end" FF gets hung up once in a while. If this happens follow the above to end the fire fox process. Then when you start Firefox again the hang up should be cleared...

Sounds like Firefox is "hanging at exit". That problem is frequently caused by an Extension or a Plugin.
