How do I report something unusual in a crash that maybe indicates agency?

Today, the flash plugin crashed several times over. There was a crash report and I sent it. But the crash report was sent *before* I reloaded the page. Each time I reloaded a page that generated an error, a full sized page would pop up with what was clearly a full page ad - looking like a blog page, but really an ad. While crashes happen, they aren't ususally attended by popups. Since this wasn't part of the crash report, how do I report this other than this post here?

Hello bdjim, follow the steps below to provide us crash ID's to help us learn more about your crash.

  1. Enter about:crashes in the address bar (that's where you enter your website URL) and press Enter. You should now see a list of submitted crash reports.
  2. Copy the 5 most recent crash ID's that you see in the crash report window and paste them into your response here.

Thank you for your help!

More information and further troubleshooting steps can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly) article.

I'm afraid there's only the one. I was busy reading some articles I was interested in and on each page flash crashed and I reloaded. At first I didn't associate the popup with the crash. Finally, when I paid attention to the prompt to report the crash and clicked send, I reloaded the page and a new popup appreared. At that point I realized that this had happened several times and thought I should report it.

I have since updated flash and, so far, have not had the problem

That is a problem with the Flash plugin.

You can check for problems with current Flash plugin versions and try these:

  • disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
  • disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)
  • disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

Get Adblock+ First and then update your flash player plugin. Try the beta version of flash and check weather the problem is occurring in that also.

Thank you for all your responses. I have updated flash. However, one of the ads that had appeared returned - it turned out to be some kind of addon malware that installed itself. Searching Foxfire support, I found an article about it, Toparadehits.com, and did most of what the article said, but there were still remnants in my add on section.

I had the whole thing removed by McAfee since I felt that their service should have prevented it. In the end, I had to remove firefox entirely and reinstall.

Happily, I am ad-free (adblock+) and, especially, toparcadehits free.
