certain sites like nbc video and comcast xfinity channel listing are shifted to the right off the screen this is a new development for the comcast site after upgrading to firefox 11. Help
the body of the table stations is right shifted. web page headers and table headers are unaffected. This just started happening with the comcast site using the URL entered below in the last two days since I update to 11.
I notice that this has been happening a lot on MSNBC sites for awhile and I could live with it. Recently the videos on the NBC pop up page are now unusable as the video is literally off the screen to the right.

Hi,
Please also try a Ctrl + F5 refresh when on an affected page. This helps to bring in the page contents afresh.
If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" as a (too) high value can cause issues.
- Firefox > Preferences > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)
Make sure that you allow websites to choose their fonts.
- Firefox > Preferences > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"
You may also need to reset the page zoom.
This doesn't seem to do anything at all. If I zoom reset, {command +0} the table and the header at the top of the page are aligned okay but then zoom in {command + +} causes the header to stay the same size but the channel table gets larger and becomes off set to the right. Essentially, the entire page is not zooming in with the same proportions.
So your problem is caused by zooming the page?
Are you using text zoom only or full page zoom?
- View > Zoom
You can use an extension to set a default font size and page zoom on web pages.
- Default FullZoom Level: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/default-fullzoom-level/
Tried all of this stuff and no change. The sites work correctly on Safari. I am quite sure I have the same addons in both browers. The only difference is that I have adblock and do not track in stalled in Firefox.
Hi again,
It would also be helpful if you could attach a screenshot: Add images: Browse below Post a Reply on this page. The Mozilla developers are looking into this and similar issues. You can also try a Shift-Reload.
I appreciate the ongoing help. Shift reload doesn't help. I have attached two screen shots of the comcast site. The earlier one shows the site with no zoom. The second at 1:08:29 is after a couple of "command plus" moves. Notice that the top of the site headers get proportionally larger but the table itself gets larger and shits dramatically right with respect to its orientation on the page. The same thing happens with the MSNBC.com video window as seen in the third image.
Such issues can be caused by using a larger font or zooming the text causing margins or white space that is specified in font size (em) to get so large that content is shifted to the right.
So check out the page zoom (e.g. reset via View > Zoom > Reset) and also check the default minimum font size just to be sure that it isn't intering.
You can check the font prefs (use the Filter) on the about:config page and sort by Status (click the Status header) to see if any are changed to user set.
Page zoom reset goes back to the smallest size font but then zooming in causes the same problem to return.
I am not sure what you mean or what to do with respect to the other suggestions.
"also check the default minimum font size just to be sure that it isn't interfering.

Are you using full page zoom?
- View > Zoom > [] Zoom Text Only
The other suggestions are about increasing the minimum font size as set via the Preferences > content tab.
I posted that menu path in one of my above posts:
- Firefox > Preferences > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)
You can use an extension to set a default font size and page zoom on web pages if the text is too small and you need to increase it.
- Default FullZoom Level: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/default-fullzoom-level/
- NoSquint: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/nosquint/
Sorry for the delay, had a bad router. Switching to Zoom Text Only seems to fix some of the problems, thanks. I am unhappy that this is the work around in that full zoom is easier on my eyes and it used to work in the past. Why is an extension needed to set a default font size if it can be set in preferences? Is there a difference? Thanks
no squint seems to help a lot. thanks for the suggestion
