removing selected cookies for e.g. abc.mydomain.org via "Preferences -> Privacy & Security" seemingly removes ALL cookies from mydomain.org. That's a little unexpected. firefox v66.05 still handles cookies the old way. Deleting cookies via storage manager also behaves as expected.

Is this an intentional change or simply a bug?

I compared on Windows. Removing 3 cookies for www.jeffersonscher.com also removed 1 cookie for jeffersonscher.com. The additional cookie was set on the base domain by a script on a page on www.jeffersonscher.com, but I don't know whether that is a factor in removing it.

You could search in Bugzilla to see whether this was an intentional change. Unfortunately, it's often difficult to find relevant bugs using common terms like cookie... https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/

thanks for confirming the feature/problem. I couldn't find anything closely related on bugzilla, so filed a bug report.
