In latest versions of Firefox access(steps & arrangement of drop menus) for making backup of actual bookmarks is changed for the WORSE. To open Bookmarks menu, and later to click SHOW ALL BOOKMARKS is COMPLETELY STUPID and NOT LOGICAL and SIMPLE. In earlier wersions the solution was perfectly O.K. To change something for NO REASON AT ALL, just to say that something is "new" reminds on "logic" persued by Microsoft. Same is the true for RELOAD of the web page button. Sorry, but it really sucks .

Those two items have been like that for over 5 months now, since Firefox 4.- wa released. As far as bookmarks goes, it is the same as it has been since Firefox 4.0 was released in June 2008, the one thing that did change was that the Organize Bookmarks menu item was renamed to Show All Bookmarks.

As far as the Reload button, it makes sense to me, plus it is customizable back to almost the way it used to be. Why have 3 separate buttons showing all the time - Go, Stop, Reload - when only one of those is active at any time. Cleans up the UI by only displaying the one button which might be needed.

To restore the Firefox 3 appearance you can use these steps:

  • Open the "View > Toolbars > Customize" window or right-click a vacant area on a Toolbar, except fot the Bookmarks Toolbar.
  • Then drag'n'drop the Reload and Stop buttons to their previous position at the left side of the Location bar.
  1. Set the order to "Reload - Stop" to get a combined "Reload/Stop" button.
  2. Or "Reload - Stop" then put a flexible space in between the two to prevent the buttons from combining.
  3. Set the order to "Stop - Reload" to separate them and get two distinct buttons.
