I have all my server settings set correctly according to Hughesnet but thunderbird tells me my login failed when I try to send any emails using my hughesnet smtp server. All my other accounts send okay using different smtp servers. I am frustrated that my main email account doesn't let me send emails. According to hughesnet my setings should be Outgoing server name: smtp.hughes.net Outgoing server port: 587 I have tried using SSL and that diddn;t help. I have tried different combinations of security settings that I could think of and none of them seem to help. I still get the login failed error message. I am at a loss as to the problem. Can anyone give me a hint as to what might be wrong with my settings?

Most providers using port 587 require SSL to be enabled. Seems odd that your provider cannot give you the correct settings for their servers since they set them up.
