I had to do a full system restore and lost the version I had.The new version does not seem to have the ad blocker.Or I can't find it.The original icon is not showing on the task bar(the string of icons next to search.I am not a computer expert,)ks

Hi

If it was an icon like a red stop sign, it might have been an addon called Adblock Plus. You can reinstall it from here (link).

Click on the green "+ Add to Firefox" button and it should install for you.
