I rely heavily on the ability to drag bookmarks to O/S folders -- often Windows desktop, or any other folders. A few versions back, I did an upgrade and it broke the ability to do this. I downgraded and waited a couple versions. Now I've upgraded again, and it worked for weeks - but broke today.

Starting Firefox in safe mode has no effect. No error is given, it's just that nothing happens.

Okay I found a way to "reset" the correct behavior, by searching some basic info. The Firefox instructions describe the primary method of creating a desktop shortcut link to involve dragging the site icon to the left of the address bar. This was new to me. I was pleased to see that it worked even when dragging from the Bookmarks bar didn't, but that once I did it, dragging from the Bookmarks bar started working again as well. Hope this helps someone in the future!
