What does this message mean, when I try to perform certain tasks using Thunderbird, like sending mail, saving a template, applying filters etc. This pops up in the lower right hand bottom: "The current operation on 'Sent' did not succeed. The mail server for account (my email address) responded: [SERVERBUG] Internal error occurred. refer to server log for more information"

I suggest you contact your mail provider. Who is it anyway?

IPage hosting is the provider, and they checked everything on their part and it was ok, when they and I use webmail everything works fine. seems like it started when I updated it to 45.1.1

The issue is web mail is not email. It is a web page so demonstrates the skill of a web programmer, but not anything about email really. It used to be it at least proved that you knew your password, until Microsoft enforced two different password standards on their Hotmail site, so a password that worked for the web site did not necessarily work for a mail client.

All that is left really is to log the connection and see if we can see exactly what is prompting the assertion.
