Thunderbird 45.2.0 continuously deletes emails from server even though "Do Not Delete: is chosen and sync is off. I send a test email to myself, check server and verify message is there. Open Thunderbird and verify new test message is in Inbox. Delete message from Inbox in Thunderbird and close app. Open browser and check email on server and test message is gone from Inbox.

Sounds like you are using IMAP email. With IMAP the messages are on the server and you view them remotely. You delete it from any remote device or at the server, the result is the same. The message is deleted. You might want to Google imap and learn how it works.
