What problems are you having with Firefox 4? Rather than downgrading we may be able to help you with the problems that you are having.

If you still want to downgrade to Firefox 3.6.* you can uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.

You can then install Firefox 3.6.* available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.

To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.

For details of how to find your profile folder see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles

Is there any way to get roboform version 6.10.1 to work on Firefox 4? I know roboform has a new version 7 that is suppose to be compatible but I don't want to have to spend the money for an upgrade.

I don't like Firefox 4 because I don't have any menus at the top any more - File, Edit, View, Options, etc. and where is the refresh button. I don't understand all the jargon but I want to go back to what I had before and you're giving me a set of instructions that I don't even understand. If I try to do this, I will wind up losing Firefox and all of my bookmarks and everything and won't be able to get any of it back. I just did one click to dump my old version. Can't you make it that simple to go back to the old version? Why didn't I get some kind of warning of everything I was going to lose before I "up"graded?

I just reverted back to 3 from 4. I'm using Windows 7 and was experiencing video driver crashes fairly often due to Firefox. This is the only program I've had that regularly screwed up my video card. Yes, my graphic drivers are up to date.

Additionally, a few times Firefox slowed to a crawl for some unknown reason, and only returned to normal after I killed the process.

I'll be waiting for 4.0.1 or .2 before I give it another shot.

Any chance that you know why the "+" add tab icon located on the tab bar has disappeared in my Firefox 4? It was the quick way to add a tab next to the last tab on the bar. My computers at work are running Firefox 4 and have that "+" next to the last tab. Any help restoring it on my computer would be appreciated.

I too, want to restore to my older version of Firefox after upgrading to version 4. Thank you for posting this with a link to the older version. Just for your information, the reason I want to restore the older version is because the new version is not usable with my version of Zoom text (9.11). It is so incompatible that I had to use IE in order to see the screen well enough to search for a way to revert to my older version. I also was unable to read web pages, enter data in the URL or Search windows or select menu options. . Often, when using version 4 big black blocks will appear where ever the cursor is, the menus will appear in different sizes and when I move the mouse to select a menu item the menu will jump to a new location. In short it doesn’t work at all with Zoomtext!

Really I wish you would have warned us of how different this version is and it might have been a good idea to review potential problems before upgrading. That really would have been the nice and polite thing to do! I'm visually impaired and having to search for a solution and then having to go about the un-install and re-install process is time consuming and difficult for me. And again, it was so bad that I had to use IE to even be able to read this webpage, enter this reply, or to get to this solution.
