As the title says every time I go to type in "Google" it recommends "Gmbinder" and so far all the support article things say the same thing, for me to delete the history or hover over it and press Delete and every time I do it's still there.

That could be the form filler built into Firefox. Click in the field, enter a character or two and STOP ! Using the arrow keys, highlight an unwanted entry. Then press Shift > Delete

Repeat as needed.

Does the favicon icon of this item in the drop-down list have a special badge attached like a pin or a star ?

Pinned items need to be removed via the Firefox Home page (about:home, about:newtab) and starred items are bookmarked page and you would have to remove the bookmark.
