Can you delete download history without deleting browsing history
Using FF 38.0.5, windows 7
I would like to save my browsing history while deleting download history when FF closes. But they seem to have only a combined tick box.
I'm sure I used to be able to one without the other in a previous version.
PS I know about the 'clear download' option on the actual download page

Hello there, it should be possible to do that in the settings. go to firefox > options > privacy & in history select firefox will: "Use custom settings for history" - then you can uncheck "remember download history".
You will have to clear the download history manually in the Downloads Manager (Clear Downloads) if you only want the clear the download history and keep the browsing history.
Firefox manages downloads in the Downloads folder in the Library (History > Show All History) Downloads are treated as history items: clearing history removes included download items and vice versa.
I suspected I couldn't. Perhaps I hadn't noticed the change when I upgraded.
I have more pressing matters. Firefox crashed earlier and I lost all my settings, add-ons, search engines and toolbars - more wasted time to come

In case you have an "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop shortcut then you can check if you can recover some of your personal data.
