I know there is a way to get a split screen with two sites side by side but I can't find instructions. Can you help?

Take a look at the available add-ons - split screen which add a split screen feature to Firefox. Not a default feature in Firefox.

Open one window, but not full screen. Use the corners to shape it the way you want. Now open a second window and do the same.
