LDAP (AD) Address query via SLL seems to be broken in TB 78

Hi all I had in the options of Thunderbird 68 a directory server entry created, pointing towards our Active directory. I used the SLL Global Catalog LDAP port TCP 3269. Everything worked fine until Thunderbird got automatically updated to version 78 a few weeks ago. Now I can only use the non-SSL port 3268, that works without further modifications but SSL on TCP 3269 does not. There is no error displayed but also never any result from LDAP when inserting recipients. On another PC, where TB 68 is still installed, the SSL query still works. Please give help, how it is possible to switch back to more secure SSL for the directory query.

Config: Hostname: ad01.home.example.com (FQDN of the active directory host) Base DN: dc=home,dc=example,dc=com Port number: 3269 Bind DN: low_priv_username@home.example.com SSL <checked>

Hi sfhowes Yes, indeed, https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1659947 describes the same issue (beside the different ports as I query the global catalog LDAP port(s)). It seems to be still under investigation/patch. Best Regards knuffel007
