Firefox changes most icons from the original logo to Firefox's logo, how can I keep this from happening? They all look the same.

Firefox changes most of my desktop icons from each companies original logo (example: YouTube, Facebook, Wikipedia, etc) to Firefox's own logo. I am unable to quickly see which site I want to go to. I would like to keep this from happening, is there a way to accomplish this. If I try to manually change them back, the next time I open my desktop they are changed again.

That can happen if Firefox makes itself the default browser because it thinks that that is no longer the case.
