Slow Browsing
I am running Firefox 26.0 and Windows 8 on a relatively new laptop.
I just timed opening my homepage (www.Boston.com): about 5 seconds for the page to initially load and 20 seconds for the browser circle to stop moving in the next to the Firefox icon in the top right.
When i go to speed test, my download speed is 20 mbps.
I have tried Firefox reset.

Hello,
Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache. Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies do the following:
- Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
- Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
- Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
- From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
- Now click the Clear now button.
Further information can be found in the Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox article.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
Thank you.
That didn't do much...still 5 seconds to first page and now 10 seconds for page to fully download on circle to stop. :(
Have you tried to restart your system, because it is a normal problem.?
I just rebooted. Same 5 seconds to page view and now back to 20+ seconds for full page download (I presume this is what it is when circle stops and the B for Boston.com appears).
BTW, just did a speedtest and the download speed is up to 60 mbps.
Also, did you see my question about the cursor and the Google search box:
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

Also make sure that your security software isn't causing this issue.
Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.
