On my laptop the mouse buttons stop working after a while, ie bookmarks, tools. the screen for opening a new tab or window. It is very frustrating to have to keep reloading.

Sounds like a power setting function failure. Also did you check to make sure the batteries are ok.

Yes I have to close firefox and restart it. I have also done a full install and it makes no difference.

Exact same thing has been happening to me, too. After Firefox is open awhile, it stops responding to mouse clicks. I close Firefox and reopen it and it's fine (for awhile). Windows 7 64 bit. Tired of disabling plugins and doing safe mode to see if it helps. I just resigned myself to closing it and reopening every so often but it's annoying and I wonder why it's happening. Doesn't happen in any other programs, mouse software makes no difference.

There is obviously a problem and I will have to stop using firefox if it cannot be resolved. This is only happening in the later versions as it did not happen before.
