Mozbackup has not been updated in a long time and the person who created it says you should not rely upon it as a means of creating a backup. You do so at your own risk.

MozBackup is not being developed anymore. There are known issues and there is no time on my side to fix all issues and develop new features. Use MozBackup only on your risk. Thanks for understanding.

re : Thunderbird is 68.7.0 (32-Bit) on Win7 Pr

If you stored Thunderbird in the default location then it would be here:

  • C:\Users\<Windows user name>\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\<Profile name>\

To create backup, exit Thunderbird program and then copy the 'Thunderbird' folder as shown above in bold. Paste it into a suitable location such as an external hard drive.

If you want to copy it to Win 10 machine.

  • Suggest you make sure to install Thunderbird 68.7.0 (32-Bit) on Win10.
  • Exit Thunderbird if running.
  • Access : C:\Users\<Windows user name>\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\
  • Delete the default 'Thunderbird' folder.
  • Paste the copied 'Thunderbird' folder into the C:\Users\<Windows user name>\AppData\Roaming folder .

Firewall: - Make sure Thunderbird is an allowed program.

Start Thunderbird.
