after firefox6 install my ie8 turns into firefox, why is that

hello, I just installed firefox6 and I went to use my ie8 for some items, and when I click on my ie8 icon, firefox opens as ie8. Firefox opens when I click my Firefox icon and also opens when I click my ie8 icon.The only way ,so far, to get ie8 back is to uninstall firefox.This is odd,I've always had them side by side on my pc. Thanks

Maybe the icon images got mixed up. It happens sometimes. If you have TweakUI (from Microsoft), you can use it to repair the icon cache. Try Firefox again. Check the properties of the desktop icons. If an icon points to the wrong place, you can change that.
