Thunderbird Constantly Freezes, Usually When Sending

I too am having issues with Thunderbird freezing up. It usually happens when sending emails, but it does also happen randomly, too. This last time it froze, I clicked on the "details" link and this was the message that appeared:

I'm not really sure what all that means, but if someone could help me figure out this on-going problem, I'd really appreciate it. I'm using Windows 8.1 and AVG antivirus, if that helps. Thanks in advance.

Thanks Wayne. I downloaded it and Thunderbird has froze on me a few times since then, but "about:crashes" shows nothing.

OK, so it really is freezes. Let's start with ...

Start *Windows'* safe mode with networking enabled - win8 http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/windows-startup-settings-safe-mode Still In Windows safe mode, start thunderbird in safe mode - http://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/kb/safe-mode

Does problem go away?
