Hi. We have a 10 computers that we have restricted as much as we can we only want then to access the default webpage.

This worked fine for a while till a maintenance function kicked in.

This is directly translated from Swedish to English sorry for any translation errors. It seams like you have not used Firefox in a while. do you want to clean/maintenance it to experience it as new? Oh, and welcome back. then to the edge there is restore Firefox button to the side.

This bypasses all the restrictions that where put on it. How do i disable that function. I've looked in the about:config page and tried some that i thought would help.

Thank you http://sv.tinypic.com/r/2jacm6v/8 or [IMG]http://i61.tinypic.com/2jacm6v.jpg/IMG [IMG]http://i62.tinypic.com/2q8vfh2.jpg/IMG or http://sv.tinypic.com/r/2q8vfh2/8

Chosen solution

as far as i know there is no setting or switch to turn that functionality off. but as i've said, just delete the parent.lock file from your default profile that is used to recreate the profiles at each login - this shouldn't have any negative repercussions.

hello SwedeOzzie, can you describe in a bit more detail how you're locking down the installation?

because the symtoms you describe is caused when the parent.lock file inside the firefox profile folder has a modification date older than 60 days ago - then firefox will trigger the hint that you have described during the startup. this may be caused when the whole profile folder is write-protected or you're importing a default profile containing the old parent.lock file each time. in both cases it should be possible to work around that by simply deleting the file...

Hi. As soon as the user log out, the entire profile gets deleted and when a new user is logged in it gets recreated from the default profile.

So a there is no other way of just disabling the function?

Thank you so far ^_^
