I'm brand new to Thunderbird (I am used to Outlook), and I'm having trouble with some email settings. Specifically, I'd like to set it so that as soon as I hit 'Send' the email I have replied to closes automatically. Is it possible to do this? Thanks

Maybe this setting: mailnews.sendInBackground

Tools|Options|Advanced|General→Config Editor

Copy mailnews.sendInBackground into the search box.

If the term appears, double-click it to toggle between true and false.

If the term doesn't appear,

  1. Right-click the window
  2. Select New then Boolean
  3. Paste it in
  4. Set it to True
