Thunderbird is already running, but is not responding. The old Thunderbird process must be closed to open a new window.

This message appears when I try to start THUNDERBIRD. I have switched off, uninstalled, reinstalled but still get the same message. What is the name of the process that must be closed and where do I find it to stop it please?
