All of my folders and emails are gone?

This morning I got up and checked my email. All was good. Deleted a few...sorted a few.

Standard morning-coffee routine.

A couple of hours later I came back...checked my email...or tried to...

Thunderbird started up and asked me to open a new email. When I said no I was shuffled off to a page about "Lightning" and told I could remove it from Thunderbird, which I did.

But when I proceeded with the mandatory Thunderbird re-start, Thunderbird came up with my email account but ALL of my folders and emails are gone.

I don't mean "greyed out" or condensed. Gone. I have tried everything from re-installing to manually checking all the settings.

I'm lost...and pretty pissed.

Can anyone help?

At the top right of the Thunderbird window, click the menu button > Options > Account Settings > Server Settings.

At the bottom of the right pane is a field 'Local directory'. What's in there? Please post the entire path.
