Hi. I have just set up a thunderbird account. I find that the account appears to have duplicated, and the first six folders appear in both. The second account also shows the sub folders that appear in my webmail account. The local folders also include duplicates of Archive, deleted, and out box. Q1. Can I safely delete the first version of my account (which doesnt include the sub folders listed in my webmail account)? Q2. Can I safely delete the three folders that are duplicated in my local folder? Thank you

looks to me like you have added the account twice. Probably once as POP and once as IMAP.

Right click the account name in the folder pane and select settings.. Determine which on of the accounts you do not want and use the account actions button to remove it.

Hi Matt

I couldnt find the IMAP or POP settings so I deleted both accounts and reselected picking the IMAP option. I worked fine thank you. Any Ideas about the duplicate foolders that appear in local folders?

There is no delete option to get rid of the 2nd and 3rd identities. I renamed them as "Old", but need to get rid of them permanently once I have moved over all content I need.
