Firefox crashes as soon as I start it, even in safe mode

more options

I cannot update Firefox above version 54. Any update to version above this causes an immediate (or within 5-10 seconds) crash when I start Firefox. I have tried a completely fresh install of Firefox, without any extensions, even removing any leftover folders from previous installations. It still crashes when I start, even in safe mode.

I have submitted many crash reports already. Below are the id's of the submitted crash repors:

hi rufatagayev, does it make any difference if you press windows-key+R, open %localappdata% and then delete the folder labelled "Mozilla" in the folder that opens up then?

Hi philipp. No difference at all. Still crashing.

One observation - seems like the crash happens whenever there is an outgoing connection, i.e. I can access the options, addons pages, etc. But if I try to open a website (any website), it crashes.

would you happen to use quickheal as your antivirus software or any other uncommon software that could impact your network traffic?

more options

No antivirus except Windows Defender (which is also disabled mostly). I even scanned for malware with MalwareBytes and RKill.

Another info if it helps - I even tried FF 57 beta and it still crashes. Anything later than 54 crashes.

You can create a new profile to test if your current profile is causing the problem.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.

Done that many times. Even installed Firefox fresh from zero, didn't help.

Hello rufatagayev, If you can navigate "about:networking", it's helpful to have a HTTP cache logging on your side. That is, follow [1] and replace MOZ_LOG with HTTP cache [2].

Could you please provide the log if possible? Either attach to [3] or directly send to me. Great thanks to your help.

Hi junior, thank you for following up. I sent you the two log files that I was able to create following the instructions (send them to the email in your profile). Hope those help. Please do let me know if I can provide any other info.
