The mixed content feature is messing with the operation and function of my fire fox browser and website. I need to remove this. I have customized things with HTML on my website that need to be visible. It is a pain to disable protection temporarily. How can I get this off my browser. It also is causing problems with the adobe flash as well. I Keep having to reenable to the flash constantly and sometimes it wont even load. Please remove this feature from fire fox or please create options for disabling with time frame limits or to make the removal permanent. You dont always have to follow what internet explorer and chrome do. I liked it better when there was no mixed content blocking.... Fire fox worked so much better. If you want to use tighter security you need to do something that doesn't cause issues with HTML or flash based content.

So what steps do I need to use to remove this off of my fire fox browser?

Hi, try this: Type about:config into the address bar, press Enter, accept the warning, scroll down to security.mixed_content.block_active_content and double click to change 'Value' from True to False then restart Firefox. Mixed content blocking in Firefox.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you!

It this rally about mixed content (padlock with exclamation mark or padlock with strike through) or possibly about Tracking Protection (shield icon)?

You should always be cautious with enabling mixed active content.

Are sure the the page isn't meant to be accessed via an open HTTP connection?

You can see a special padlock at the left end of the location/address bar.

  • a padlock with a strike through means that mixed active content is blocked.
  • a padlock with an exclamation mark attached means that mixed passive content (e.g. images) is present, but not blocked.

You see the shield icon when Tracking Protection is blocking content.
