I get Kaiser Health News (from kff.org) which aggregates health news. Clicking on any link immediately crashes Thunderbird, so in order to get to the links, I have to open the news site in Firefox. What's TB's problem?

Can you post the last few crash reports? They are URLs that begin with bp-... in Help/Troubleshooting, Crash Reports.

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/mozilla-crash-reporter-tb

In the meantime, see if the same thing happens in safe mode (hold Shift when you launch TB).

Sorry, that doesn't really solve the problem. Furthermore, I noticed the same thing happens when I click on links in the news emails from the SF Housing Action Coalition (sfhac dot org). TB immediately crashes and, BTW, doesn't open the link in Firefox. (Both TB & FF are updated automatically.)

I wanted to include here one of the TB crash reports, but as the forum doesn't allow posts with links, it won't allow repro of the report. Eh!

I subscribed to a KFF newsletter and didn't experience any crashes by clicking a link. Same with links in a KFF RSS feed added to TB. Firefox is the default browser. What are the active security apps on your computer?

You can post a crash report link here if you replace the periods with dot.
