Preferences always opens on Thunderbird startup
When I open Thunderbird, along with the default view showing my Inbox, the Preferences tab always opens on a new tab.
I have to close the Preferences tab before I can then view my inbox.
I have - Tried amending and saving some random preferences first - Tried restarting the app - Tried restarting the PC - Googled the issue to no avail - Looked through the preferences for a 'Always open preferences on startup' option which my be ticked - Looked through the registry to see if I could see anything obvious in the Thunderbird registry folders but found nothing
I have not yet tried removing/reinstalling Thunderbird. This is an elderly relative's machine and I am saving that for a last resort.
I am not using the affected PC at the moment so cannot take a screenshot however I have uploaded a screenshot showing, in general, what it looks like when Thunderbird opens (though the 'Show the Start Page in the messaging area' option is unticked for me)
Any help appreciated,
Thanks

TB should open in the folder that was open, and with the tabs that were open, at last closing. If that's not working, Help/More Troubleshooting, Profile Folder, Open Folder (Mac:Show in Finder), close TB, delete or rename session.json.
