how do I set the DuckDuckGo extensionin Firefox to open videos in YouTube?

more options

I would like to know how do I set the DuckDuckGo browser extension on Firefox, to open YouTube videos? I do not use the DDG browser because I can't use talk to text on it. If it ever gets an update where I can use it, I will use it. For now the extension is fine but I would like to know how to open the videos because when I click on a video in my search results it does nothing

Does the extension give you a special results page, different from just starting on https://duckduckgo.com ?

No it goes to the results just like it would if I was on the website, or using the app. I just installed the extension for Firefox. Now my phone if I click on a video and it says YouTube, it just sits there. When I go on my tablet it will open in YouTube within the web browser. I don't know I'm very confused right now. Both my phone and tablet or Android 14 My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S23FE and tablet is a Samsung Galaxy 10.5

If I understand correctly:

  • The problem is with DuckDuckGo results in Firefox for Android.
  • Links to YouTube worked before the add-on and stopped working with the add-on.

It seems very strange that DDG's add-on would break their own site, but it could indicate that the add-on isn't fully compatible with Firefox for Android.

I'm going to flag this thread for an admin to move over to the Android forum.
