Firefox gives me a consistent error when updating: "Firefox could not install this item because of a failure in Chrome Registration. Please contact the author about this problem." Can't re-install Firefox, or get it to open without this message at least 6-7 times.

Every time Firefox opened

Chrome Registration failures are usually caused by a safety precaution in Vista/Windows 7 to prevent programs from making changes to files in protected folders or registry keys. The solution is to run the Firefox program once as Administrator (right-click: Run as Administrator). See: vistasupport.mvps.org: Run As Administrator
