Is Firefox going to accept responsibility and give us an easy fix for the Yahoo takeover? This is UNWANTED AND FRUSTRATING!!

The newest version comes with a gift of Yahoo intrusion and takeover. I do not appreciate this and also do not appreciate that although there is alot written, the fixes do no work if one cannot access their toolbar because it has also disapeared. We are told to go to file as a start and file option is not on the new Yahoo toolbar.

If you download Firefox from http://www.mozilla.com/ it does not include the Yahoo toolbar. Updating Firefox will also not add the Yahoo toolbar. There are versions of Firefox available that are "Optimized for Yahoo" and include the Yahoo toolbar, for example if downloaded from http://downloads.yahoo.com/us/firefox/

To uninstall the Yahoo toolbar, if the toolbar includes a pencil icon click on it for the option to uninstall the toolbar. Alternatively you can uninstall it from the add-ons manager as shown here - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Uninstalling+add-ons

Thank you for your suggestion. However, even after I went directly to Firefox and downloaded the program, Yahoo is still lurking. Yahoo is still in charge! I cannot find the "pencil" or file option when Firefox opens...can you offer any other suggestions? I am disgusted that Yahoo is able to do this. If I remove it from my computer, and reload the program, will I lose my bookmarks?

Did you try uninstalling it using the add-ons manager?

Click the orange Firefox button, then select Add-ons to open the add-ons manager. Go to the list of extensions, select yahoo in the list, then click Remove.
