All versions of Firefox loaded since March 2010 have this problem. Cannot load Monster job details after clicking on the job link. Browser responds with Error 400. Must copy job link, then paste into IE.

Presently using Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.17) Gecko/20110420 Firefox/3.6.17 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

  • Use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window to disable all extensions.
  • Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

In Firefox 4 you can use one of these to start in Safe mode:

  • Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • Hold down the Shift key while double clicking the Firefox desktop shortcut (Windows)

Hi - I tried what you recommended. No change.

I did notice for Normal mode and Safe mode, the very first time that I click on a job listing, the listing will display normally. However, all subsequent clicks on that job link or any job link will come back with "Error 400. Your browser sent an invalid request."

For example, the first time I click on a job link, the address window shows a normal internet address, and will display correctly:

http://jobview.monster.com/Senior-Wind-Turbine-Engineer-Job-Seattle-WA-99215649.aspx

Subsequent clicks on the same job link are displayed in the address window as:

http://edu.monster.com/i/PreJobView/interstitial?cancel=http%3a%2f%2fjobview.monster.com%2fSenior-Wind-Turbine-Engineer-Job-Seattle-WA-99215649.aspx%3ffwr%3dtrue&ed=EAAQJqAgTDf0ujiOvloDb5UWSKuOVJr4Ltrw30NdYHRfz6wkZb6aUxHUoXgOCIosuuRJUHKKU5fpCZmGFa154YFH.JoH_IABvSPKCxtScAoHr4o5wN2lMjX3SLHRMqy0V1L9L6xZPRBsKRPLxpIKEfLWH14KPqAgrJUx39PFI0gknNMaSyxxR9o2Lh2Yy9HTLsMBX3.6MMgbSZ4.LA4V19vkz_KD953JklFIpSufGNWhFYWK4mVOeuNdiVhHmBU.SeRawUg5Ik5wdQOI.yOp8IxpxrMUoR_Swt4FBOX7lrwRQ76fCzC060w3skpRart.CKMzUKlVkXXLVCNOhbOIg9.UmK6Om2tm5drWg20hB.XDO1PiJlMBLzhik5xuXanz1mKtNeotrLOKFpLfbrcsGliSEw--

I'm at a loss ...

Today, another Error 400 response message appeared. I've attached a screen capture.

Normally, I enable both SSL and TLS but I read that SSL would inhibit ".asph" extensions, which are used in Monster job descriptions. I disabled SSL but was prevented from logging into Monster. I re-enabled SSL but disabled TLS. I noticed that pages loaded faster, and that job decsriptions were displaying...for a while. The Error 400 message screen returned, with a different error message. See attached screen dump.

I can't be the ONLY one having issues with Monster and Firefox...

Yes, those two steps seemed to do the trick.

I will have to continue to clear the cookies and cache whenever the Error 400 message appears. When it did, for example, I cleared the cache and removed all cookies. Then, I refreshed the screen...and the description displayed correctly.

Thank you.

(p.s.: still can't print properly from within Monster. That's an ancient problem, not a one new from me.)
