Multiple tabs pop up when firefox starts
Multiple tabs pop up every time I start Firefox. The tabs are FoxClocks, ReminderFox, DownloadHelper and ReminderFox. I have checked in options to make sure they aren't added to my default home page and they aren't.

It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.
Delete the files extensions.* (extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini, extensions.cache, extensions.rdf) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.
New files will be created when required.
See "Corrupt extension files":
If you see disabled, not compatible, extensions in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left side of the Search Bar (or click the "Find Updates" button in older Firefox versions) to do a compatibility check or see if there is an update.
Removing the "extensions.ini" file stopped the multiple tabs from popping up but I lost half of my addons so I had to put it back.
I've tried everything mentioned in the forums, Firefox's help page and even searched the web, but nothing is helping.
I probably need to install the newest version but haven't wanted to yet because so many of my addons won't work with it.
Thanks for the help, it is greatly appreciated.
Did you try to (re)move all extensions.* files?
I removed all the extensions.* files and that's when I lost quite a few of my extensions. I restarted Firefox a few times and the tabs didn't pop up when it started but many of my add-ons weren't there either.
Thanks anyway!
If you do a check for updates like I posted above then Firefox should do a compatibility check on the server and re-enable all extensions that are found to be compatible.
I checked for updates like you mentioned and my add-ons came back but so did the tabs that were popping up.
I think I'm giving up, but it really is a nuisance.
Thanks
Restore the default home page
After this IF it still doesn't work, see this:
