When i download a file/picture/program it names the downloaded file which is not recognized by me.

Ex. A picture would be labeled " Record-image(11).jpg when downloaded. How can I know what this is unless I open it.

You can try to delete the mimeTypes.rdf file in the Firefox Profile Folder to reset all file actions if you get a missing or wrong file extension.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder
