Text on many pages vanishes when the page fully loads. This happens on huffpost.com and sportingnews.com all the time. How can I stop this from happening?

As the page begins to load, I can start to read the text, but at the very end, an ad pops up and all the text vanishes. On espn.go.nba the entire box of articles to the right of the main photo disappears. I have already opted out of adsense for all types of ads, but this did nothing to change the situation.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.
