i am trying to follow the steps to fix copy and paste here. https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Midas/Security_preferences when i get to step 3 there is no user.js file. when i create another one it creates a folder not a script file. how do i create the script file to enter the new scripts?

Create a text file, then change the name of the text file to user.js. Please be cautious in trusting websites to read and write to the Windows clipboard. You don't always want websites to see what you're copying between pages or between programs.

Make sure to select file type "All files" when saving the file to prevent Windows from adding a hidden .txt file extension (file type in the Properties should be JS or JScript as Windows calls it).

You can also try to use keyboard shortcuts if the buttons on the web page or other methods aren't working.

  • Copy: Ctrl+C or Ctrl+Insert (Mac: Command + C)
  • Paste: Ctrl+V or Shift+Insert (Mac: Command + V)
  • Cut: Ctrl+X or Shift+Delete (Mac: Command + X)
