Why can't I open embedded photos in Gmail using Firefox (for Mac OS 10.9.1) when I can see these same photos in Chrome with Gmail?

I have tried many suggestions that have been listed on the Internet, but nothing seems to work except switching to a different Browser. Firefox (Ver 26.0) seems to be the only Browser that I have tried that has the problem.

When the message comes through from someone ( a trusted and frequent sender), I get a "Paperclip" icon near the top right of the message, but no where else on the page is a place to Download or View the attachment. This problem only seems to affect photos as other attachments such as PDF or WAV or DOC files always show up at the bottom left for me to take further action.

Why does this happen and what can I do about it? I do not want to have to drill-down into the HTML to make changes or check something everytime I get an attachment.

Thanks for your help. Snowball99

Snowball99, I don't think that element on the gmail is using flash. I opened up the element on the page and there is no embedded attachment. So, I would like to clarify is this an embedded photo in the email or is this an attached pdf, wav, or doc files.

The attachment is an icon at the bottom of the email, maybe a screenshot would help: please see How do I create a screenshot of my problem?

Once you've done this, attach the saved screenshot file to your forum post by clicking the Browse... button below the Post your reply box. This will help us to visualize the problem.

Thank you!

Snowball the ui is made in Java, please make sure that Java is up to date in Firefox as well.

Hello,

I have checked that Java is up-to-date at ver 7.51.

My screen's viewing area is smaller than the entire page, so I do not know how to get the whole page instead of just the area being viewed. I have tried the Screen Print instructions, but data other than the issue is also included in the screen print.

Also, I don't mind sending (forwarding) the message to you, but I do not want to have it posted on the internet for everybody to see as there is also some private data on the screen.

Please advise. Thanx, Snowball99
