As discussed previously on now-archived page https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1421215, there seems to be no way to un-ignore a sub-thread that has been ignored. I've gone to the parent thread and un-checked the "Ignore Subthread" option (and cycled this several times) and no matter what I do, the sub-thread remains invisible. When I view the entire conversation using "Open Message In Conversation" from the parent email, I see the sub-thread, and it has the red "ignored" marker. When I hover over the marker, I get the message "This Subthread is ignored". Left-clicking the marker does nothing. Right-clicking it produces the same dialog box that I get by right-clicking anywhere on the ignored thread, offering no option to un-ignore the thread. I tried copying the ignored thread to my inbox, and this produced a copy of the ignored thread that is also ignored and cannot be un-ignored.

I am guessing that the problem has to do with the fact that THE IGNORED THREAD IS NOT A DIRECT CHILD OF THE PARENT. Please see the attached images.

SO THIS IS A BUG. It is not reasonable that the child thread remains ignored when I un-check the "Ignore Subthread" option on the parent email. It is also not reasonable that the "Conversation" view that actually displays the ignored thread and tells you that it is ignored offers no way to un-ignore the thread.

I am running Thunderbird version 128.5.1esr (32-bit) on Windows 10, and Thunderbird says that it is up to date.

Thunderbird e-mail replies look like HTML wireframes; white-on-white fonts

[I'm not finding the exact answer to my question in the forum, so please forgive me if this question is asked/answered in some other manner.]

Whenever I forward or reply to-mail, the message looks like some kind of "raw HTML" format (with boxes and other formatting); and the fonts--including the message I'm trying to write--is always some kind of random foreground/background color combination. Many times that combination is a VERY VERY light gray foreground, on top of a white background, and I can't read what I'm typing unless I highlight it. Other times, it's in what I guess is "dark mode" (white font on dark background)--but then the attached e-mail below my response, which contains dark font, is illegible. I've attached samples of each.

Of particular note is that when I send these messages, the recipient sees a normal message and formatting. It's only when I'm composing them is it problematic.

Other than messing with the myriad mouse clicks on the "text color" and "background color" squares, how do I make my replies legible to my eyes, and consistent in formatting?

Thanks.

Hi everyone,

I'm encountering an issue with Thunderbird (version 128.5.1.esr) on Windows 11 with the latests updates that I can't seem to figure out. Whenever I receive a digitally signed email, Thunderbird reports that the signature is "not valid" accoridng to the provided screenshot.

Here's the strange part:

The same email shows a valid signature in other mail clients, including Outlook (iOS, Android, Windows, macOS) and Apple Mail on macOS.

The email is sent using a golan application (GitHub Repo https://github.com/theexiile1305/go-mail) , so it should be consistent across the board.

I can't understand why Thunderbird alone is flagging this as invalid. Has anyone else faced this issue or knows what might be causing it? Could it be related to how Thunderbird verifies signatures or interacts with certain certificates? How can I access the logs to get a deeper insight into this issue?

Thanks in advance for any insights!

I've written a program that runs every 15 minutes to look for any new emails that have arrived. So... (1) Can all emails be received automatically as separate .eml files? (2) After my program reads the .eml file, is it ok for my program to delete the file? (or is that going to screw up an index somewhere?) (3) I will be using Thunderbird for one email address with POP3 and SMTP. I will be using MS Outlook for other email addresses, also with POP3 and SMTP. Will Thunderbird and Outlook live happily together?

     Thank you, Art Lieberman

Following on from the archived question "How do I reinstate notification of number of new emails in my taskbar icon" at https://support.mozilla.org/mk/questions/1395000 . This question is solved and archived, but I had trouble understanding the solution and I think others may also, so I have found another solution to add the new emails (red numbers) to the Thunderbird tray icon on Windows.

Tools>Options>Add-ons Manager> (search) Windows Taskbar Unread Badge (--Put an unread mail count badge on the Thunderbird icon in the Windows taskbar--) > Add to Thunderbird.

Thunderbird for Android just installed, would love to use this instead of current Outlook client. Long email threads showing as unacceptably indented, down to one letter per line some cases. Occurs TB android but less so Outlook android, and TB desktop. One workaround is to view emails as plain text on TB desktop, they then wrap beautifully. Any plans to allow plain text render on TB android? Or any idea how to view badly indented emails so they fill the pane? Thank you for the good work!

This all started when I purchased an Acer 4K monitor. Incoming mail started to look like the attached email. Also I can not increase by default the message text size and Contacts List.

I've been using TB for over 30 years. Tried all the text settings in Tools. Also tweaked "layout.css.dev PixelsPerPx" in Config Editor and got minimal improvement.
