After years of happy use of Thunderbird, it now fails to load emails from the website of my web and email provider. How can I restore it?
Thunderbird 45 on my iMac ceased to load emails on Tuesday evening from my web provider www.cruzio.com. It tries, says it is loading messages and displays the gauge of downloads which shows a little blue after for a first message a few seconds and the blue slowly extends until it abruptly stops and nothing has been added to the Inbox. I have inquired with Cruzio and they say that nothing has changed on their end. I am able to log in at my Cruzio account and read and respond to emails there. I can also successfully send emails from Thunderbird. However, I am a user of email with fairly high volume and rely on the efficiency and many other wonderful features of Thunderbird. Please help!

I have an antivirus program from Intego for many years now, no problem. But the real news is that this problem disappeared after 4 days. About 250 emails then uploaded to Thunderbird. I am just finishing going through them. It remains a mystery, but the problem is over.

Do you have an anti virus program? Then are know trouble makers of this kind.

similar problem started with installation of microsoft update KB3199986
was getting login failure on send and receive. could login via browser
after changing password authentication from encrypted to normal, problem "cured" except now sending passwords in clear text.
microsoft update screwed encryption ?
