how do one block downloading

I am trying to block anyone from downloading programs to my computer. I do have other people using my computer and they are downloading program which they think are free. Along with the download comes a lot of other junk which is hosing up my computer.

You can look at this extension:

Note that this is an extension and can easily be bypassed by starting in Safe mode by knowledgeable people.

Starting Firefox in Safe mode can be done via these methods:

  • On Windows, hold down the Shift key while starting Firefox with a double-click on the Firefox desktop shortcut
  • On Mac, hold down the Options key while starting Firefox
  • Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
