tb 24.3.0. win 7 home premium, 32bit. auto updates on. tb has worked perfect since install. after returning from weekend away, could not receive emails. tb logs in to isp, knoes there are 1 of n messages; turns progress bar green, does nothing. I can use isp's web mail program to get emails. what changed.

Chosen solution

Turn of email scanning in your anti virus program and try again. If you ever feel the urge to start an email problem with the word "suddenly" it is almost always the anti virus program, unless the service is actually down with the mail provider.

I feel a bit like Miss Marple saying the butler did it when I answer these, but no where near as clever.

Matt,

Thanks for your reply. I feel so stupid. I used my ISP's mail program to look carefully at the emails I could not load. It turns out one of them had 40mb of attachments. Generally when large attachments load I get "movement" in the progress bar, but none this time. That is way I thought there was a problem. Once I discovered this - I just let the emails load and everything was ok. By coincidence the large email was first to be read.

It is always the first to be read.... usually because you close the program as nothing appeared to be happening last time. But pleased to see you have things up and running and it was so simple.
