There is a email missing from one of my accounts. How do I find or recover it?

I can not find a message that I received about a week ago. I can find a reply I sent in regards to the email, but I can not find the original sent to me. Any ideas on how to go about recovering it? I searched using the senders email name but no luck? If I somehow deleted it, is there a way to still find it? Thanks Dave

Starting with the simplest, try checking in the Deleted/Trash folder in thunderbird. If it was not found there, you can check the web interface if it still remains there (depending on the provider and your thunderbird settings).

If the above didn't help you find the email you lost, check Undelete a message

Thanks for the information, it did help, but unfortunately I still have not found that email and it is even stranger the more I look. After searching Mozilla and not finding the original email sent to me, (Only my response to it) I went on Gmail and used the search options there and again can only find the response. I'm pretty sure I did not imagine it since I used the senders email address for the response. My next step is to call the sender. Odd stuff! Thanks for your help....
