I have a problem seeing the screen as the font/characters in firefox are to small. In IE or windows it has the option to increase the view from 100% to 125%, etc. Is there a similar feature n firefox? The fullscreen does not help and I have recently tried it only to find I have to close the whole browser, as there is no way to minimize it. I have tried right click to zoom but this is also not available with firefox that I have seen.

You can zoom using your number pad. Hold the Ctrl key and tap the + button to enlarge and the - button to shrink. More info: Font size and zoom - increase the size of web pages.

If you have a high resolution display and you want to set a higher zoom level as a default, there are some add-ons you can install for that.

Does that help?

Forgot to mention two things:

(1) To switch between full screen view and normal view, you can use the F11 function key. Also, when you're in full screen view, if you slide your mouse all the way to the top and right-click, you get a tiny context menu allowing you to return to normal view.

(2) If you prefer clickable zoom control buttons, you can add + and - buttons to the toolbar of your choice using the Customize feature.

  • right-click a blank area of the tab bar > Customize
  • orange Firefox button > Options triangle > Toolbar Layout
  • Alt+v (opens the View menu) > Toolbars > Customize

In the dialog with all the unused toolbar controls, locate zoom and drag it where you think it would be most useful. If you drag it to the Add-on bar at the bottom but the bar vanishes after you click Done, press Ctrl+/ to display the bar. Or use one of the above methods to turn it on from the menus.
