The problem comes and goes, perhaps associated with version updates. It does not matter whether I try to open www.facebook.com or whether I try to open my Facebook page or follow any email links to Facebook. I have verified that Firefox is up to date, tried reloading (CTRL-F5) a Facebook page, tried clearing cache, rebooting. None of these worked. I have not encountered this with any other domain. Facebook displays just fine in MS Edge (which I would rather not use, except under duress). I am using Windows 10.

Chosen solution

hi vandives, unfortunately that will be caused by a fault in kaspersky security software on your device which meddles with your connections. the issue should be fixed by kaspersky already when you update its software to the latest version/signature.

in case this didn't work, please proceed like this:

Thanks to philipp for a quick answer. I forced a version update, although auto-update is supposed to be active and found the problem solved. I suspect in the past, when I had this problem and it cleared itself up when I didn't have time to pursue it right away, it may have been just Kaspersky not catching up with Firefox updates.

I plan to implement the rest of the suggestions later, as I suspect they may be a more permanent solution.
