Twice now when I have opened Thunderbird on my old laptop, the laptop Thunderbird program has stolen all inbox emails from my Desktop (main computer), how can I stop this? and how can I return these emails back to the Desktop.

Thank you for any help.

Fred

I am guessing your laptop is configured as a pop client and your desktop as an IMAP one. POP default to removing mail on the server when it is downloaded. IMAP synchronizes to the server.

If your laptop account is POP go to the account settings and select leave messages on server

You were right with the IMAP and POP, did as suggested and am waiting to see what happens when I next open the old laptop.

Thank you for the help.
