My husband and I recently changed ISP. My old provider does not forward emails, even as a chargeable service, once an account is switched over to a new ISP. The account dies without content forwarding.

Unfortunately, I forgot to change my email address with Firefox/Mozilla. Your system disconnected my account that used my old email address as part of my log-in. When I tried to get into the account to change my contact info, your system sent confirmation codes to the now inactive e-mail.

I have several Firefox add-ons and I had a basic Pocket account set up using my old Firefox address as its log-in.

How do I get everything set up to transfer to the new Firefox account I've just created to write this message? I do not wish to lose my Pocket data.

Surely, I'm not the only Firefox user who has had this issue!

FWIW, I use Firefox mostly on a Windows 11-powered laptop, but also have Firefox Mobile set up on my phone. The browser I've used to write this post is 115.0.2 (64-bit).

Thanks,

To resolve this issue, you'll need to update your email address on the platform or service where the account is registered. Here are some general steps to help you with this process:

Log in: If you can still access your account, log in using your old email address and password.

Navigate to Account Settings: Look for an option like "Account Settings," "Profile," or "Account Information."

Update Email Address: Within the account settings, find the section where you can update your email address. Enter your new, valid email address.

Verify Email: In many cases, you may need to verify the new email address. Check your new email inbox for a verification email and follow the instructions to complete the verification process.

Confirm Changes: Save the changes to your account settings after updating your email address.

Check Recovery Options: If you are unable to access your account due to the outdated email address, check if there are any recovery options available, such as an alternate email address or phone number. Use these recovery options to regain access to your account.

For the Pocket issue, I suggest you ask Pocket if you can't recover the information you want.

It seems you are no longer using the same profile or information has been lost via sync. If you can use the profile, you will still have Pocket and your add-ons. In the following article there is a section on finding your profile and a section on finding the profile with Firefox closed.

If you are using sync, I suggest you switch it off while trying to restore data. If the profile is no longer available, you will have to reinstall add-ons.
