IMAP & POP & SMTP
Dear all,
I have three e-mail accounts on my Thunderbird: Swissmail, Freeler and Casema.
Swissmail is a POP account.
Freeler and Casema are IMAP accounts.
Question 1: How can I change a POP account to an IMAP account? Do I need to uninstall it and reconfigure it? If tat is the case how can I keep the e-mails in this account?
Question 2: Many recipients do not accept messages sent by my Swissmail or Freeler accounts but they do accept those from my Casema account. My Casema account is linked to my Internet service provider so e-mails use this as a SMTP account. How can I send e-mails from the other two accounts? Is i possible to configure a different SMTP server for each account?
Thank you for the answers.
Kind regards,
George Nielsen

- you cannot convert POP to IMAP, but you can create an IMAP account alongside it. if you want to close the POP account, you can create local folders and move the messages there prior to closing the POP account. It is also possible, after copying to local folders, to upload to the IMAP account, but that can be problematic and should be done in small groups and then checked afterwards.
- you cannot use an SMTP for one account with another account. Most email hosts will reject as spam. As an aside, you might investigate email settings for Swissmail and Freeler to determine why the emails are not being processed.
